The Slovenian Transversal Mountain Bike Trail (STKP)

Our protected area is also part of the Slovenian Transversal Mountain Bike Trail (STKP), which bypasses all the major Slovenian mountain groups and measures about 1,800 kilometers. The trail is divided into 41 stages and passes 109 checkpoints, with a total elevation gain of about 50,000 meters.

Cyclists on the trail get to know the diversity of the Slovenian hilly landscape and numerous important points of mountaineering, folklore, and technical history. The trail runs along low-traffic side roads, field paths, forest tracks, and trails. It is not particularly technically demanding, but it can be strenuous in some places, and in some areas, you may need to push the bike or carry it, but not everywhere.

The 24th stage of the trail passes through Kozjanski Park. It starts in the center of Brežice, ascends through Pečice to Podsreda Castle, and then continues through Vetrnik towards the top of Bohor - to the Bohor Cottage.
