Hiking along the Castle Trail to Podsreda Castle
One of the most enjoyable options for a nature walk in the Kozjanska Park is the interactive PODSREDA CASTLE TRAIL, which starts at the main administrative office of the Kozjansko Regional Park in the town of Podsreda and leads through the medieval Podsreda Square, past the Levstik Mill (Levstikov mlin) on the Bistrica River, through the forest and up to the Podsreda Castle.
It is an interactive castle trail on biodiversity, marked with directional and bilingual Slovenian-English information boards, providing the opportunity to explore the exceptional biodiversity and rich cultural heritage, as well as other attractions of the surrounding area.
Along the 2.5 km long trail, visitors can learn more about the nature of the Kozjansko Regional Park using 14 interactive points, discover the exceptional biodiversity of the surrounding area with the help of information boards, and test their knowledge about the forest and the rich flora and fauna.
The Podsreda Castle Trail was created within the framework of the project "Biodiversity - the Art of Living" with the acronym LIFE Naturaviva (LIFE 16 GIE/SI/000711), in which the Kozjansko Regional Park participates as a partner.
