Podsreda Castle Receives the Slovenia Green Plaque at the Slovenian Tourism Days
Last year, Podsreda Castle proudly became a holder of the prestigious Slovenia Green label, joining the Slovenian Green Tourism Scheme. Yesterday, November 19, 2024, we officially received the Slovenia Green plaque at the Slovenian Tourism Days in Laško, further emphasizing our commitment to sustainable principles.
The plaque was presented by the Minister of Economy, Tourism, and Sports, Mr. Matjaž Han, and the Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board, Ms. Maja Pak Olaj. It was accepted by Ms. Milenca Krajnc, Mayor of Kozje Municipality and owner of Podsreda Castle, and Ms. Nina Gabron, a representative of Kozjansko Park, which manages the castle and played a key role in achieving this prestigious recognition.
Podsreda Castle and its rooms and apartments fulfilled the key requirement for joining the Green Scheme by obtaining the GREEN KEY certification in 2023. With adopting the Green Commitment to Slovenian Tourism, we pledged to responsible and sustainable development while continuously improving our practices.
In November last year, we received the Slovenia Green Attraction label for Podsreda Castle, making it the first green attraction in the broader Savinja region and one of 15 green tourist attractions in Slovenia. The Rooms and Apartments at Podsreda Castle joined the ranks of selected green accommodations in the Podčetrtek destination and across Slovenia.
These recognitions highlight our dedication to sustainable management and responsible tourism development. Kozjansko Park, which manages Podsreda Castle, has been a member of the Slovenia Green Park family since 2017, contributing to preserving natural and cultural heritage.
The Slovenian Green Tourism Scheme provides label holders with professional support for developing sustainable practices and increased visibility, raising awareness of the importance of sustainable tourism.
