You can enjoy your GRAB-AND-GO breakfast basket in the comfort of your castle room, in the castle hall, where you will also find a coffee machine and a tea corner, in the sunny castle courtyard under the mighty chestnut trees, by the nearby pond on a picnic blanket, which we will provide, on the nearby meadow or in a forest clearing.

Dear esteemed guests, as you indulge in our breakfast feast amidst the enchanting embrace of our medieval realm, we humbly request your participation in preserving the beauty of nature that surrounds us by kindly returning your nature-friendly, plastic-free glass packaging to the breakfast basket upon completion, allowing the cycle to continue, and if you so desire, these glasses are available for purchase to grace your own abode.

Additional charge for a gluten-free or vegan breakfast € 4,00.

Order and pick up your breakfast basket

The order for the castle breakfast basket should be arranged AT LEAST ONE DAY IN ADVANCE, before your arrival at the castle.

On booking, you will receive an email with a choice of breakfast options at the castle and you can choose from EIGHT DIFFERENT MENUS, half of which are vegetarian and the other half contain local meat products. Choose your preferred breakfast and let us know your selection by email or phone.

During your stay in our apartments and rooms, please let us know your breakfast choice one day in advance during reception opening hours in person or by phone or email.

A basket awaits guests in the CASTLE HALL, located directly below the rooms and apartments - each basket is labeled with the name of the accommodation in which the guest is staying. Pick-up starts at 8 AM and empty baskets are to be delivered by the evening at the latest.
All packaging in the breakfast basket is returnable.

Kunej Farm

The Kunej Farm is located in the heart of the Kozjansko Regional Park, in the immediate vicinity of the Podsreda Castle, with a history that dates back centuries. From their forebears, today’s owners have inherited the farm, as well as a dedication to farming and, most importantly, good and tried recipes for excellent meat and other homemade products.

At the Kunej Farm, the morning starts early. They lovingly prepare a delicious breakfast that awakens the taste buds and fills your heart. They believe that homemade bread should be available to everyone, which is why they have teamed up with the Resnik Bakery in Kozje, which prepares fresh bread for them every day.

The Kunej family swears by homemade, traditional products that awaken the taste of home. They share this passion with their local customers and those who come from far and wide to enjoy the homemade delicacies.

We are delighted to have found the perfect partner to prepare our CASTLE BREAKFAST BASKET at the Rooms and Apartments at Podsreda Castle in the Kunej family farm.

Kozmus Beekeeping farm

The Kozmus beekeeping farm in Pilštanj, located in the north-western part of the Kozjansko Regional Park, is home to around 50 bee colonies. The beekeeping is managed by Peter Kozmus PhD - a beekeeper, researcher, chairman of the Beekeeping Council at the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Food, vice-president of the international beekeeping organisation APIMONDIA and the list goes on. He has been beekeeping since the age of 14 and beekeeping means a lot to him. He treats his bees with respect and calmness, which makes his bees extremely peaceful. His main interest in beekeeping is the preservation of the Carpathian honey bee, and he is also interested in queen rearing. As part of his duties, he attends many beekeeping conferences around the world, where he helps beekeepers in various ways. He is currently our biggest ambassador of Slovenian beekeeping in the world!

At the Kozmus beekeeping farm, honey is produced with great care, and every effort is made to preserve its original quality. The beekeeping offers different types of honey, pollen, propolis, wax, and products made from these ingredients. Since 2017, they have been included in the collective brand "Slovenian Quality Controlled Honey", further confirming their products' quality.

Sinkovič Farm

In the heart of the Kozjansko region, the Sinkovič Farm is located in an unspoilt rural setting. The main activity on the farm is dairy farming, which has a tradition of more than 40 years. From whole milk, to which nothing is added or taken away, probiotic fruit and plain yogurts, cottage cheese, spreads and young cheeses are produced. Guests can visit the farm and take a tour of the production facilities as well as the cheese factory. You can also taste their delicious products: yogurt, cheeses, spreads, Greek yogurt and other dairy products. The wide range of delicious homemade dairy products has recently been enriched with the first homemade "frozen yoghurt" in Slovenia, Frozy, which is loved by young and old alike!
