Podsreda Castle, the jewel of the Kozjansko Regional Park, invites you to discover the rich heritage, exhibitions, stories, and experiences hidden within its medieval walls.

Regular opening hours are effective from 2 November 2025.

Visitors can look forward to numerous experiences:

 

You can explore the castle’s interior, numerous exhibitions and collections, the visitor centre of the Kozjansko Regional Park and the Kozjansko & Obsotelje Biosphere Reserve, and visit the castle shop featuring a selection of local products and souvenirs.

In addition to the self-guided tour, families and curious minds can embark on a fun adventure with the Treasure Hunt at Podsreda Castle – an interactive game throughout the castle rooms, suitable for all ages.

For a more immersive encounter with the past, try the mixed-reality experience, where visitors use VR headsets to dive into stories of the castle’s history through the eyes of its former residents.

You can also enhance your visit by enjoying a castle cold platter – a selection of local delicacies available by prior reservation, served either on the castle terrace or in one of the historical chambers.

Additional experiences include audio-guided tours, thematic activities for families and groups, creative workshops, special events, outdoor exhibitions, and leisurely walks through the surrounding orchard and educational forest trails of the Kozjansko Regional Park. We also recommend discovering the scenic Castle Trail – a themed walking path connecting the castle with the village of Podsreda.

Podsreda Castle is a place of stories, heritage, and unique experiences – ideal for a meaningful and enjoyable everyday visit.

Opening hours of Podsreda castle café

Monday to Friday: CLOSED
Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 – 17:00

 

Starting in April, the café will follow its regular opening hours – Tuesday to Friday, from 10:00 to 16:00, in line with the opening hours of Podsreda Castle.
The café is open until 18:00 on weekends and closed on Mondays.

We warmly invite you to stop by during your visit to the castle, relax on the castle terrace or in the cosy indoor seating area, and enjoy a cup of coffee, a refreshing drink, or a light snack with a view.

The entrance fee for individuals and families includes an audio guide. Groups can have a guided tour by prior reservation.

Visitors to the Podsreda Castle can also explore the castle premises independently, with the help of an audio guide available in Slovenian, English, German, Italian, and Russian, and find out why Podsreda Castle remains one of the most renowned and well-preserved castles in our country.
We offer visitors guided tours of the castle and its exhibitions throughout the year, giving them the opportunity to get to know and feel our castle’s history, which still lives a full and rich life today. Guided tours of the castle are available by prior reservation (+386 41 419 996).⠀
