Family Week at Podsreda Castle
May 16–22, 2026
Within the ancient castle walls, surrounded by the nature of Kozjansko Park, children will explore the secrets of the castle, create, compete in castle skills, and discover the world of the Middle Ages through play. Parents, meanwhile, can enjoy a relaxing family day in one of Slovenia’s most fairy-tale-like locations.
Throughout the week, families enjoy free castle admission, and can also join the popular Treasure Hunt at a special promotional price of only €13.
We are also preparing free creative and educational workshops for children, full of imagination, games, and castle atmosphere.

Families will also receive special castle worksheets with riddles, tasks, and interesting facts that will turn the castle visit into a fun family adventure.

Free Workshops for Children

Children do not need any special equipment or materials – only curiosity, creativity, and a good mood.
Through various activities, children will create crafts inspired by the castle and nature, discover mysterious castle objects, play medieval games, and solve castle riddles and tasks.

The event is part of the project “Heartbeat of Podsreda Castle”, focused on developing sustainable tourism experiences in the Kozjansko Park and the Kozjansko and Obsotelje Biosphere Area.
