On Friday, 11 April 2025 at 17:00 we are opening the painting exhibition “Imagined or Actually Seen” by Olga Rezanova in the attic of Podsreda Castle.

Olga Rezanova was born and studied in Moscow, but for the last five years she has been living and working in Slovenia, in Bistrica ob Sotli, where she has found her second home. She graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in petrography. Her artistic career began with graphic art, then with realistic landscapes, but over time she found her own unique style. Although her primary artistic direction is painting, she also works with Tiffany stained glass, mosaics and ceramics. She also runs art workshops for children and adults, where she shares her knowledge and passion for creating. Her studio TUFI at Trebče in Bistrica ob Sotli is a place where new works are created and art lovers meet.

The exhibition at Podsreda Castle will present a series of oil paintings from several creative periods, as well as wooden installations that will connect the artworks with the antique wooden ambience of the exhibition space. The artist’s style could be defined as Symbolism – the motifs of nature, plants, flowers, fish are slightly modified and serve as a basis for experimenting with colour.

The artist communicates with the world through her paintings. For her, painting is a powerful and universal language, a way of expression that opens the door to the inner world of the artist and the viewer. She is constantly searching for her colours, shapes, ideas, listening to herself and deepening into the process of creation. She believes that art reveals the inner richness of each individual and offers an opportunity for self-discovery.

Olga Rezanova: “….I love life and nature, my colours are bright, I am an optimist, I want to show my enthusiasm for the richness of nature. I think it is very important to create your own, to have your own view on objects, to have your own opinion on everything. My motives are slightly distorted and unreal. It is necessary to look for your own colours and shapes, your own doors, ideas, to try , to listen to yourself. That’s interesting, that’s self-knowledge, we are all rich inside, painting reveals that….”
